Spring Break is the perfect opportunity to travel. I will never understand why people don’t go on vacation. I’m one of those people that HATES looking back on times I did have a break and realize that I have no story to tell. I’ve ALWAYS done something for spring break, simply because my cousins told me that things like “Spring Break, Winter Break, Summer” don’t exist in the real world. I understand hard work and having work ethic, but trust me vacation is so necessary! It gives you time to relax and gather yourself (that is if you’re working hard the other days of the year.) Even if it is just getting away for a weekend, being able to relax and recharge is something you HAVE to let your body and mind do (outside of sleep and exercise.) Vacation allows you to be productive in your own way, without being tied down with deadlines.
Ever since my boyfriend and I started dating, I felt like I owed it to him to see everything and anything outside of Virginia Beach. The world really is big, you just have to be interested enough to figure out how big it is. Last year, we went snowboarding for spring break and we recently got back from being in the mountains of West Virginia. So, we decided to find some good eats in New York. (I wanted to do the whole cruise/florida miami beach thing but I was alone on that one.) In less than a week, my friends and I found an apartment in Brooklyn and our food trip began before we knew it. We ended up at Clinton St. for their pancakes, Cafe Habana for their Corn and Cuban sandwiches, grabbed some bite-size cupcakes for snacking by Melissa, Ippudo for a big bowl of ramen, Katz Deli for their pastrami sandwiches, and the Creperie for one of our favorite types of dessert…crepes!
i forgot how awesome having a winter/spring/summer/fall break was. they really don’t exist when you start working! that corn looks delicious. i find it hard to believe all the times i’ve been up there i’ve never been to habana!
