It’s ironic and funny, really. The people our parents tell us not to associate with are the people that we choose not to be around, anyway. My friends, who are what I can consider my family because I’ve known them since birth…understand what it means when I say “I don’t like hanging out with filipinos.” I’m not saying I am better than anyone. I am only stating that some people carry themselves in a different way. and if you know me well enough, I HATE (not just dislike) anyone that tries to mess with my reputation or anyone that deems me as guilty by association. because by all means, I refuse to be one of those people that messes it up for everyone else.
Again, this is where the irony of it all comes in to play. I am filipino. My friends, for the most part are filipino. But I’m not in to half the things other filipinos are. I’m a people person, but not that kind of people person. However, I can’t completely blame it on being filipino, it can also be the demographic. Where I grew up was small, and everyone thinks they know everyone. and I’m convinced that if someone from another city can tell me that the people here are FAKE too then my conclusion is plausible.
