You never want to be a part of the process where someone is trying to “find their self.” Especially when it is someone you really care about.
1. It’s their mess
Yes. Finding out who we are or who want to be and become is something everyone has to do alone. Creating ourselves is what defines us, no one wants to be a carbon copy of anyone. We get that enough from people comparing us to our siblings and parents…God gave us our our minds and hearts so we can decide for ourselves what we want. It’s up to us on how and if we want to use what is given to us.
2. All they NEED is a friend to JUST LISTEN
This is the hardest part for a friend to do. Parents, teachers, friends, we all go through it… No one wants to see someone struggle especially when we know we can help. REMEMBER: You don’t want to become a part of their mess even though deep down you care about them and you want to do everything in your power to help ease any kind of pain… Physical, emotional, and/or spiritual.
This is when we have to remind ourselves of how lucky we are and pray that one day they will be just as lucky… Just sooner than later. but it’s definately a process you had to figure out on your own, and you should let them. No one will ever know you more than yourself. So love yourself first then everyhing else will come into play…right on time.
3. You WILL lose yourself, a friend, and hinder them from a better future
They already know how vulnerable they are.
